Legal / Terms

Terms of use.

These terms cover this website: its research, glossary, calculator and the rest. A security test is never governed by them; it runs on a signed quote, an authorization letter and our rules of engagement. The short version: use what you learn here only on systems you are allowed to test.

Draft for lawyer review. Not in force. PLACEHOLDER

This page is a working draft. A lawyer reviews it before it applies, and bracketed slots fill in once the company is registered.

What these terms cover.

Your use of this website and everything on it. Security tests are agreed separately: a signed quote, an authorization letter from the system's owner and our rules of engagement govern every engagement, and these terms do not.

Use what you learn here only with permission.

Our research, guides and glossary explain risks and how to defend against them. Apply them only to systems you own or have written permission to test. In the Netherlands, entering a computer system intentionally and unlawfully is a criminal offence.Note 1

Found a weakness in our own systems? Our disclosure policy says how to report it and what we promise in return.

Prices and estimates.

The ranges on our pricing page and the results of the pentest cost calculator are indicative and exclude VAT. They are not an offer: only a written quote is, and it states its own scope, price and validity.

Our content, and other people's.

The text, design and code of this site are ours. You may quote short passages with a link to the page they come from. Framework names and ids belong to their publishers: the OWASP lists we map to are published under CC BY-SA 4.0, and we cite each one where we use it.Note 2

Links to other sites are there so you can check our sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.

Liability.

We take care to keep this site accurate and to cite a source for every factual claim, with the date we checked it. It is general information, not advice for your situation. [LIABILITY CLAUSE FOR LAWYER REVIEW]

Applicable law and disputes.

Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in [CITY], unless the law gives you the right to go to another court.
